Car Market Update: Is now the right time to buy?

Similarly, the three most important words in the used car business are flexibility, flexibility, flexibility. 

So… is now a good time to buy a used car? Well, that depends on how flexible you are. As we come out of the high-price summer season and head into the fall, car prices will drop as they have every fall for the past two decades.

However, that doesn’t change what we’ve been saying for the last few years: Flexibility is your friend! If you want a specific brand, with a specific color and set mileage, we will do our best to find it. However, the more specific you are with what you want, the more it will cost, even when prices drop this fall. 

Car supply is good (if you know where to look.)

We recently heard the narrative that you can’t buy used cars right now, and that is simply not true. 

While supply is still down based on historical norms, we are seeing an increase in supply compared to a year ago. But even with that increase, you still need to be cautious because there are more bad cars out there on the market than good ones.
