We’ve done a little interview with Karla to help you get to know her. She’s a mom to 3 teenage boys and wife of an engineer. She’s an avid walker – her shoes log more miles every year than most athletes you know. (Okay, that’s not an official statistic but probably still true.) Read more below to get to know her!

What were you up to before joining the MATS staff team?

I started out as an elementary teacher, then spent the next 19 years in ministry. And here I am!

Surprise! You’re going on a road trip: Where are you going? What are you listening to? What are you snacking on?

Every year we drive to Cape San Blas – so probably there! It’s about a 14 hour drive, and it’s kind of remote, so we take all our groceries with us. I’m usually listening to one of the playlists I’ve made. Making playlists is a huge hobby of mine! I’m not much of a road trip snacker, to be honest, but if I had to choose, Skinny Pop or parmesan Goldfish.

What is your favorite vehicle you’ve driven?

We have a ’66 Mustang convertible right now in tahoe turquoise. It doesn’t have a working radio, so we take a bluetooth speaker and like to listen to music while we cruise on a beautiful day.

If I could pay for any other service, it would be for someone to clean my house! In case you missed it, I live with 4 guys. I love a clean space but do not enjoy the act of cleaning.
